So true lol. Like at most conventions. Pretty much everyone thinks any mandalorian is Boba Fett. But here, one millimeter off somewhere.. and it's not good enough.. OCD kicks in etc.. lol

Yes, I agree and it's one of the things I love about this site in that people aren't afraid to express proper constructive criticism which I think is invaluable and is worth ten times simply stroking each other off. That said I'm now going to stroke D off; you're doing very well here and that red is gorgeous.

Came back and looked again. The silver paint really reveals a lot of scrapes and nicks I didn't expect in the ROTJ helmet. If this is accurate to the screen used ROTJ helmet, had no idea Sandy beat up the helmet that much. I'm a sucker for those little details. My ROTJ Fett love and appreciation is growing.

Some dome work. I was going to wait until it was finished to do all my thank-you notes, but I feel I need to give a huge shout out to Raf at this point. This dome is really difficult, and i don't think I would have made it this far without his templates. They really are a lifesaver!! Thanks bud,
*And thanx Ryan for helping me size them!

    Ha ha...Me too!!

Just about all done with my underpainting and masking on the dome. Should be spraying out the green by the end of the week.
    Thanks

Couple teaser pics. Work has been slow, but the end is finally in sight. Still plenty to do, but the "heavy lifting" should be about done. Misting, blending, and a good deal of subtle weathering to do yet. Kill stripes and turn signals next....

    Out-Fucking-Standing!

    Yeah, what he said.

This is looking like it's going to be one of the best paint ups of all time. The attention to detail that's going into this is frightening.

So you layered this? The silver detail is really good.

  17. #57
Yeah, so far it is 100% layered

Awesome sauce. If you added the Kill Stripes to this (as is), and did nothing else, this would be better than 99% of the ROTJ helmets I've seen floating around on the Book of Face.
